Evidence Supports Option to Choose Voluntary Euthanasia for the Terminally Ill

Commenting on the research published today in the Journal of Medical Ethics, which shows no evidence of adverse impacts on vulnerable groups or of a slippery slope arising from the legalisation of voluntary euthanasia, Liberal Democrat MP and parliamentary campaigner for assisted dying, Dr Evan Harris said:

"We must now help the vulnerable people who suffer under our current laws - those who are terminally ill and want help to die but whose wishes are denied"

"Opponents should now admit that their true position is not about protecting the vulnerable but about imposing their views on the sanctity of life on other people who do not share their view."
